The beautiful Bernese Oberland, situated in central Switzerland, Europe, is a great place for a summer holiday and is one of my favourite places. There are lots of things to do, including walking, cable car and funicular rides into the mountains, and paragliding.

The Bernese Oberland has many picturesque towns and villages as well as glistening lakes and snow-capped mountains.

Sphinx at Jungfraujoch

One of the best days out is the trip to the Jungfraujoch at 3454m and always covered in snow.

For a great day out take the cable car from Grindelwald to First, and follow the easy footpath to Bachalpsee, a beautiful mountain lake.
